Outlet Plugs in the Spotlight: What Do We Need to know About These

Power plugs, sockets or outlets are great little inventions that allow for us to connect electrically operated equipment. They are used to connect devices with primary alternate current in all building. We have seen them everywhere, they are in our homes and in our offices. But, as much as we see and use them on a daily basis, we still don’t know anything about them. We don’t how they are made or how they work. So, to clear things up, let’s talk about what an outlet plug is and how it works.

There are a lot of different types of power outlets that are used. Most major countries use a different type of outlet. There are around 20 types of sockets that you can find, there are even more if we count those that aren’t in use. But, they can only be found in older buildings. In Australia we use the type I power outlet and cable. It has either two or three pins. When there are three pins on the cable, one is grounded, but, when there are only two they aren’t grounded. For most power outlets, the voltage is the same, there are only a few that separate themselves from that voltage.

All of the sockets are made in a way that ensures your safety. But, as we are working with electricity, we can’t be too careful. If you come in contact with the electricity inside, you can get quite the shock. There are a lot of bad things that can happen to you. You can get burned, get shocked, and in the worst case scenario, you could end up dying. If a shock occurs while a cable is plugged in, the cable might catch on fire and everything around might catch on fire. These are only a few reasons why you need to check if you outlet plug is faulty or not.

They are helpful, but they can be dangerous if we aren’t careful. A big problem with them is that they aren’t decorative enough. We can always grab a pen and a brush in order to decorate them. There are many things that we can draw on power outlets and around them in order to add a little beauty to the room. We can draw a face and add some humour, you will always burst out in laughter when you use your outlet. We can also draw something around them.
